services - In office
West LA Hand Center provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Our physicians offer both surgical and non-surgical care, with treatment tailored to each patient’s diagnosis, goals, and individual needs.
Treatment
Seeing a hand and upper extremity surgeon does not necessarily mean you need surgery. Many conditions can be successfully treated with non-surgical options, including activity modification, medications, bracing or splinting, therapy, and injections. When surgery is appropriate, your physician will discuss the available options and the reasoning behind the recommended treatment plan.
Many diagnostic and treatment services can be performed conveniently in our office. When additional care is needed, we work closely with a trusted network of therapists, imaging facilities, surgical centers, and other specialists throughout the Los Angeles area.

In Office X-Rays
For added convenience, digital X-rays are available directly in our office. If you have an upper extremity injury or develop a new concern, we can often obtain the necessary imaging and evaluate fractures, arthritis, joint alignment, and other bone and joint conditions—eliminating the need for a separate trip to an urgent care or emergency room.
This allows patients to receive prompt evaluation along with the personalized care and attention of a specialty orthopedic practice.
Diagnostic Ultrasound & Ultrasound-Guided Procedures
Musculoskeletal ultrasound provides real-time imaging of many structures of the upper extremity, including tendons, ligaments, nerves, muscles, and joints.
When appropriate, ultrasound can be performed during an office visit to assist in the evaluation of certain shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions. Ultrasound guidance may also be used for injections and other procedures, allowing precise visualization of the targeted anatomy.
PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP) & CORTICSTEROID INJECTIONS
West LA Hand Center offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and corticosteroid injections for a variety of shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions.
PRP uses a concentrated preparation of a patient’s own platelets to support the body’s natural healing response and may be an option for certain tendon, ligament, and joint conditions. Corticosteroid injections can help reduce inflammation and relieve pain.
When appropriate, injections are performed with ultrasound guidance for precise treatment of the targeted area.
In Office Procedures
Many upper extremity conditions can be treated with procedures performed conveniently in our office. Depending on the diagnosis, these may include cyst aspirations, nail procedures, foreign body removal, and other minor procedures.
Our physicians will discuss whether an in-office procedure is appropriate for your condition and what to expect before, during, and after treatment.
Surgery
When surgery is recommended, our goal is to make the process as straightforward as possible. Your surgeon will explain the diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical alternatives, expected recovery, and what to expect before and after your procedure.
Our surgeons perform a broad range of procedures for conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand, from common outpatient procedures to treatment of complex injuries and reconstructive conditions.
Surgical procedures are performed at accredited surgical facilities throughout the Los Angeles area, including surgery centers and hospitals.
Hand & UPPER EXTREMITY Therapy
Therapy can be an important part of treatment and recovery for many upper extremity conditions. We work closely with experienced certified hand therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists throughout the Los Angeles area.
When therapy is recommended, our team can help connect patients with an appropriate provider based on their condition, location, and individual needs.
